Hong Kong - Feb 3, 2026 The British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) has announced today that Youku Tudou (www.youku.com), China’s leading internet television company, will stream the EE British Academy Film Awards on Monday, February 9th, 2015, as part of a new three-year deal with BAFTA.
Alongside the EE British Academy Film Awards, the BAFTA-Youku Tudou package includes streaming of the British Academy Games Awards, the British Academy Television Awards and the long-running series of on-stage interviews, BAFTA A Life in Pictures. IMG, a global leader in sports, media and fashion, brokered the deal on behalf of BAFTA.
The EE British Academy Film Awards is among the leading international film award ceremonies and regularly attracts A-listers like Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie, Amy Adams, Judi Dench, Christian Bale, Tom Hanks, Leonardo Di Caprio, Michael Fassbender, Uma Thurman, Emma Thompson, Cate Blanchett, Helen Mirren, Oprah Winfrey and BAFTA’s President, HRH Prince William, Duke of Cambridge.
The Awards broadcast starts at 21.00 GMT on BBC One in the UK and in all major territories around the world.
THE GRAND BUDAPEST HOTEL received 11 nominations. BIRDMAN and THE THEORY OF EVERYTHING were each nominated in 10 categories, THE IMITATION GAME had nine nominations, BOYHOOD and WHIPLASH were each nominated five times, MR. TURNER, NIGHTCRAWLER and INTERSTELLAR received four nominations and PRIDE received three.
The EE British Academy Film Awards will take place on Sunday, February 8th (GMT) at The Royal Opera House, London, England. British actor and writer Stephen Fry will return to host the ceremony for the 10th time. On the night, www.bafta.org will feature red carpet highlights, photography and winners interviews, as well as dedicated coverage on its social networks including Facebook (/BAFTA), Twitter (@BAFTA / #EEBAFTAs), Tumblr and Instagram.
