Announced: the 52nd Golden Horse Awards Nominees!
The 52nd Golden Horse Awards Nominees have just been announced.
Nominees in The Best Feature Film category are: THANATOS, DRUNK, PORT OF CALL, THE ASSASSIN, THARLO, and MOUNTAINS MAY DEPART.
The Best Director nominees are CHANG Tso-Chi, TSUI Hark, Hou Hsiao-Hsien, PEMA Tseden, and JIA Zhang-Ke.
LEE Hong-chi, Aaron KWOK, FENG Xiao-Gang, DENG Chao and DONG Zijian are nominated for The Best Leading Actor.
Karena LAM, Sylvia CHANG, Vivian SUNG, Shu Qi and ZHAO Tao are nominated for The Best Leading Actress Award.
The Best Animation Feature nominees are: MONKEY KING-HERO IS BACK and MCDULL: ME & MY MUM.
The Best Original Screenplay nominees are CHANG Tso-Chi, Tom Shu-Yu LIN and LIU Wei-Jan, Philip YUNG, GUAN Hu and DONG Runnian, and JIA Zhang-Ke.
The Best Adapted Screenplay nominees are Sylvia CHANG (Office); Zhong Acheng, Chu Tien-Wen, and Hsieh Hai-Meng (THE ASSASSIN); XU Hao-Feng (The Master); PEMA Tseden (Tharlo); CHENG Yu-Chieh and Lekal Sumi Cilangason (Wawa No Cidal).
The Best Cinematography nominees are HSU Chih-chun and CHANG Chih-Teng (Thanatos, Drunk), Christopher DOYLE (Port of Call), Mark Lee Ping-Bing (THE ASSASSIN), Lu Songye (Tharlo), and YU Lik Wai (Mountains May Depart).
The Best Film Editing nomination goes to Zhong Renbo (The Verse of Us), CHANG Tso-Chi (Thanatos, Drunk), Chen Po-Wen (Murmur of the Hearts), DING Sheng (Saving Mr. Wu), and LIAO Ching-Song (THE ASSASSIN).
The Best Visual Effects nominees include Victor Wong and Bryan CHEUNG (Rise of the Legend), GUO Jianquan and Christian RAJAUD (Wolf Totem), Jason H. SNELL, Ellen POON, and TANG Bingbing (Monster Hunt), Wook Kim (The Taking of Tiger Mountain 3D), Rick Sander and Christoph Zollinger (Gone With The Bullets).
The Best Art Direction nominees are Yohei TANEDA and LEE Kin-wai (Monster Hunt), William CHANG and Alfred Yau (Office), YI Zheng Zhou (The Taking of Tiger Mountain 3D), Hwarng Wern-Ying (THE ASSASSIN), and Liu Qing (Gone With The Bullets).
The Original Music Award for Best Film nomination goes to LIN Shangde and TSENG,Yun-Fang (Thanatos, Drunk), KUNG Yu-Chi, aka. A Gong in Sodagreen (Zinnia Flower), Chen Yang (Murmur of the Hearts), Lim Giong (THE ASSASSIN),Yoshihiro HANNO (Mountains May Depart).
The Best Supporting Actor nominees are CHENG Jen Shuo, Lawrence KO, Michael NING, Michael CHANG and WANG Qianyuan.
The Best Supporting Actress nominees are LU Xuefeng, Elaine JIN, MA Sichun, Jian Man Shu and JIANG Wenli (The Master).
The Best New Director nominees are ALEC SU (The Left Ear), LEE Chung (The Laundryman), Xiang Guoqiang (Young Love Lost), BI Gan (KAILI BLUES) and Frankie Chen (Our Times).
The Best New Performer nominees are LEE Hong-Chi, Jessie LI, Michael NING, Cecilia SO, and Ado· Kaliting ·Pacidal.
32 and 4, ON THE RIM OF THE SKY, THE VERSE OF US, WANSEI BACK HOME and THE CHINESE MAYOR are nominated for The Best Documentary.
The Best Short Film nominatees are Under the Sun (QIU Yang), No No Sleep (TSAI Ming-Liang), The Death of A Security Guard (Cheng Wei Hao), Filial Piety Award (Chen Jian-zhang), and Time to die (Tony wang).
The Outstanding Taiwanese Filmmaker of the Year will be awarded to director Hou Hsiao-Hsien.
The Lifetime Achievement Award goes to Li Li Hua.
The Golden Horse Awards are among the most prestigious film awards in the world of Chinese language cinema. Established in 1962, the awards have been recognizing untold excellent filmmakers working in the Chinese-language cinema, such as King HU, Edward YANG, Ang LEE, Ann HUI, WONG Kar Wai and JIANG Wen, etc.
The 52nd Golden Horse Award will be revealed at the Golden Horse Awards Ceremony on November 21st, 2015.
