Hairun Goes To Busan Film Festival

BUSAN Oct. 2, 2015 - Ellen Eliasoph, CEO of Village Roadshow Pictures Asia joined Liu Yanming, President of Hairun Media & Entertainment Group in a party held by Hairun at the Busan International Film Festival.

Director Johnnie To, Jia Zhangke, Sylvia Chang, Kim Ki-duk, Feng Xiaogang, Wang Xiaoshuai, Larry Yang, and Li Jun (Tik Tok / 역전의 날, featuring Lee Jeong-jae, producer Ahn Dong-kyu and Victoria Hon (Mountain Cry), actress Lang Yueting were also present, together with Lee Yong-Kwan Festival Director of BIFF; KIM Sae-hoon, Chairman of KOFIC; Zhang Qiang, President of Alibaba Pictures; Zhu Huilong, CEO of Youku Tudou’s Heyi Pictures, and other film professionals.

Hairun is the production company of this year’s closing film MOUNTAIN CRY at the Busan International Film Festival and OFFICE (Johnnie To), which has just received 6 nominations for the 2015 Golden Horse Awards. Its first ko-production, an action suspense film, Tik Tok / 역전의 날 is now being shot in South Korea. Hairun also annouced to establish a Korean branch soon, to make a total of 6 ko-productions in the coming 3 years.

Hairun’s President Liu Yanming expressed: “This is the first time that Hairun comes to Busan and is a big step for Hairun in 2015. With OFFICE and MOUNTAIN CRY presenting at BIFF, Hairun will be more confident in making good content with its production partners.” Hairun has been working with Johnnie To since the start of its film business.
